Today's learning spaces need to invoke creativity, inspiration, and opportunities to continuously collaborate with one’s peers. Farmingdale School District has moved forward in the development of flexible learning spaces in which students engage in inquiry and problem-based learning activities and gain exposure to the latest technologies.

#CELI14 was a watershed moment for the asynchronous learning community that has emerged on Long Island. It was an opportunity for us digital mavens to connect avatars with individuals and learn through each other’s flows. What Dr. Brennan and the Long Island Connected Educators are doing is crowd-sourcing a visioning process for the future of our schools and the ubiquity of technology for our students. The Long Island Connected Educators conference was the most inspiring, mind stimulating conference I have attended in some time. It was a wonderful opportunity to share ideas and learn from many other technology proficient educators. I left this conference with the courage to implement more technology into my classroom and a true sense of the importance of technology in today's education. |
I thought it was amazing day that brought together people who are passionate about ed tech. After following so many people on Twitter and then meeting them in person...I felt like I was meeting the celebrities of the Ed Tech Universe! My mind was blown away by the opinions and the information shared by everybody at the conference. I learned so much that I could take right back to my school and my classroom. What a great conference. Very easy to access the internet, great momentum, it never got boring, and flowed throughout the whole day. Great topics, and I like the free section at the end. Oh and it was free with great food. |
I arrived and was immediately taken in by the energy and interaction among educators who cared! The day re-kindled my faith in the direction of education. Teachers can and will connect to keep learning on the right course! This conference was amazing. I think the structure (live chat/breakfast, panel discussion, breakout sessions, unconference, and recap) was an excellent choice in that all participants had the opportunity to network, learn together, and then debrief. Bill Brennan and his team did a great job in putting this conference together. After speaking with many participants, people are excited at the opportunities to be connected following this conference. |
